Episode 579: Lili Blessing

Friday Mar 31, 2017

Friday Mar 31, 2017

Hello friends! I hope you're easing into your weekend in style. I'm in the midst of a week full of SKYROCKET! shows here in Austin and Houston. So far, it's been fun and inetersting. We even played a gig at 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday. I've been out of the "news loop" this week. I'm taking a stand. At least, I think I'm taking a stand. I was watching CNN too much. I don't even know if "the news" is really THE NEWS anymore. Do you feel like that? Now it's like a host and a panel and they argue and there's not any actual journalism. I watch Vice when i can, but that's not very often and the news cycle moves so fats that it almost doesn't make sense to watch it the next day. Anyway, I'm out of the TV news for now.
My guest for episode 579 is the phenomenally talented and incredibly entertaining, Lili Blessing!Lili's gorgeous new album, Lifeline came out a couple of weeks ago. She's been making the press rounds and is about to start playing some shows. You can get the album on itunes and at liliblessing.com Lili and I have a great conversation about growing up traveling all over the world, growing up onstage with her mother, the legendary, Sara Hickman, writing the deepest songs at age 14, doing a TED Talk, dealing with arthritis and much, much more! I hope you enjoy getting to know Lili. I sure did. Let's get down!

Hello friends! Well, it's official, SXSW is underway. Not the music part yet, but the whole thing is up and running. If you don't live in Austin, you don't have to deal with even more insisne traffic, no parking anywhere, people walkng into the streets looking at their phone and cursing you if you almost run over them. It gets nuts. having said that, if you're here for SXSW or you live here and you know how to do it, it can be a pretty fun time. I'll be going to a lot of events this year even though I'll only have a one-day badge for Thursday. Looking forward to the podcasts I have lined up. Should be fun.
