Hello friends! Austin music legends Eddie Wilson and Jesse Sublett are my guests on the show today! Eddie Wilson started The Armadillo World Headquarters in 1971, brought the cowboys and the hippies together under one strange and beautiful roof to bond over music made by people that would go on to be some of music's greatest legends. He and musician/author, Jesse Sublett wrote the definitive story of the celebrated, historical music/art venue. "Armadillo World Headquarters: A Memoir" by Eddie Wilson with Jesse Sublett is an amazing account of the place and the people set in motion the Austin music scene that we know today. Conrad recently moved back to the U.S. after living in a few countries and finally settling in Cambodia for a while where he recorded a brilliant solo album, Original Machines. Hello friends! Hurricane Harvey has really laid some destruction on our fair state. Over 38,000 people are in shelters and the time to help is now. This page on texasmonthly.com shows you the many ways you can help those in need. Speaking of which, my friend, Louie Carr stopped by after his first trip to Houston. Louie and his partners at BMUSED Imaging bought a boat, grabbed an R.V. and headed to Houston to rescue people from their flooded streets and homes. It's an extremely intense scenme down there as Louie tells us. Also, he let's us know what the most needed spplies are. Louie is a real hero among many others who have come to the aid of these people in need.

You might know Curse from his many musical projects including, PIGFACE, Evil Mothers, My Life With The Thrill Kill Kult, DJ and solo performances and even his latest project, Amorous. Hello friends! It's been a tough week for this music community. We lost two pillars on Sunday... The great Jimmy LaFave and the amazing George Reiff. My thoughts and prayers are with their families and loved ones at this time. I know this music community is reeling from two powerful losses, but remember that these beautiful souls and their music will live on within us forever. They'll be missed.

Hey gang! I hope you've had a good week. Maybe you're getting ready for the weekend. I am. The weekend usually means my work time. I'm traveling this weekend. Sunday is Mother's day. I hope you remembered to get something for your mom or the maternal figure in your life. I am behind on my Mother's day gifts for my aunt and grandmother. I think I'm going to get flowers on Sunday morning on the way. Good idea, right? I'll let you know how it turns out on Tuesday.
