Hello friends! We have a Friday double-header for you today! First up, Miami rock band, Fifty Eight Hundred and I have a great chat via Skype. These dudes, all under 20 years old, are bringing the rock power to the world all the way from Miami. The project began in January 2015 when bassist, Yannick Waingarten, and drummer Nic Collins, formed the band after playing on stage together for the first time in December 2014. With the addition of lead guitarist, Joey Rodriguez and vocalist Jacob Maicol, the band was complete and they released their debut self-titled album. We have a great conversation about making rock music in Miami in 2018, recording their debut album,  Nic's other gig, playing drums with his dad, Phil Collins and much more! You might know Alex as the singer of latin funk supergroups, Brownout and Brown Sabbath, the percussionist of Golden Dawn Arkestra, the guitarist for The Sword's Doom Side of the Moon and many, many more. Doom Side of the Moon, a metal tribute to the classic Pink Floyd album at Emo's in Austin on Friday November 30th. We have a great conversation about performing Brown Sabbath for Ozzy himself, discovering the drums, becoming the singer of Brownout and much more! I had a great time getting to know Alex.
