Hello friends! I hope you enjoyed your weekend. Things are getting weirder all the time with the news, but let's not talk about it here... Deal? Deal. My friend, Giulia Millanta stopped by the other day to talk about her new album, Moonbeam Parade which you can find on itunes and at giuliamillanta.com but you won't find it on Spotify. We have a great conversation about "going electric" for Moonbeam Parade, going to and finishing medical school then deciding to become a professional musician, Blues Cruises, touring Europe and much more! hello friends! i hope you're all happy, healthy and kung fu fighting your way through these crazy times.  things are good here. i am about to head out of town to play with SKYROCKET! tonight at a deb ball. should be interesting... if you;re in houston tomorrow, saturday, april 25th we will be playing at the continental club. the show starts at 10. it's always a good time at the continental club. also, if you're in austin this weekend, check out art city austin! it's an amazing art show that's going on saturday, 4/25 and sunday 4/26 with tons of art and artists showing their work. this year there will be music at the black fret stage both days with such notable acts as danny malone, jazz mills, elias haslanger, amy cook, today's guests, east cameron folkcore and many more. just go to artallianceaustin.org  for info and tickets!my guest for episode 372 is east cameron folkcore's frontman, jesse moore! if you live in austin, you might have just seen east cameron folkcore on the cover of the austin chronicle a couple of weeks ago. if you live in europe, you might have seen these guys on their yearly european tours. they've just released their thrid and most intense album, kingdom of fear, on april 7th. these guys are using music to spread a message about waking up to the catastrophic realities we have coming our way through, climate change, surveillance, impending water shortages and much, much more. a lot of us, including myself, would rather watch a funny video on youtube or check twitter than learn about these gigantic issues facing society. well, jesse and the rest of the band are not scared to face these issues, write about these issues and go sing about it all over the world. this is a great conversation, east cameron folkcore is an important band and jesse is a really nice, smart and entertaining guy. i hope you enjoy getting to know him as much as i did. let's get down!ciao! -jg

hello friends! i hope you're all accepting the entrance of fall like a female minx during mating season. i am. i have enjoyed the cool weather like nobody's business. i just got home from a gig at steiner ranch with skyrocket. it was really fun. my old friend, dan, came out. we've been buddies since 4th grade. what a great guy. anyway, good times were had. jams were jammed. if you live in austin, we'll be at the roost tomorrow, saturday, 9/27. come out. it's a party.my guest for episode 312 is legendary singer/songwriter, jimmy lafave! i've seen jimmy play and heard his music for the last 22 years. i have always loved his voice and his songs so much. i finally asked to come on the show. mostly, so i could get to know him better. i'm glad i did. we had a great conversation about oklahoma, the red dirt scene, weird record deals, starting a label, owning a studio, touring europe and much,  much more. you're gonna like getting to know jimmy lave. i sure did. let's get down!ciao! -jg

hello my friends! i hope life is treating you well! summer is now a mere memory. i feel like i didn't really get into summer like i have over the last two years. not one pool party. i went to the beach with the family. so, i guess for one weekend i was fully-immersed in summer and summertime activities. oh well, it's fall now i'll tell you. it's cooler outside. i'm going to run at 9:30 am which is something you can't really do in the summer in texas because it's already too hot by then. however, with this new fall coolness, i'll be doing things after 9 am that i could only dream of doing in august. "seasons change. people change" - expose'my guest for episode 311 is incredibly talented singer/songwriter, robyn ludwick! this is robyn's second time on the show. i saw that she put out a dark and beautiful new album this summer called, little rain so i invited her back in for another round of verbal ballet. it turns out she's been mentoring a young lady from houston, she toured europe this summer... with her family, she toured australia and even played some prisons down there. we talk about all of that and much, much more. i love robyn. she is an amazing songwriter that tells very dark and twisted stories in a beautiful and haunting way. enjoy our talk. i did. let's get down!ciao! -jg

hello my friends! welcome to the "extra show" this week. we'll be putting out three shows this week and next week as a celebration of having a lot of shows in the can. i spent the day rehearsing with SKYROCKET! yesterday. i can't believe that we get along like we do after we have been playing together for so long. i started playing with them on valentine's day 2002. we didn't have the schedule that we have now until like 2006 or 2007. it's kinda fuzzy as to when this became full-time. but it's nice to know that i love my friends and it's fun to hang out and play with them.episode 265 is a triple-header recorded during sxsw 2014! first up, we have the crookes from sheffield, uk. their new album, soapbox came out tuesday, 4/15/14 on modern outsider records. we have a great conversation about their journey as a band, recording in italy, touring europe, sheffield's rich musical history and much more. next up is danish rock trio, baby in vain! i had no idea how young these ladies were when i heard them. they're absolutely amazing and we have a great talk on street corner about their plans for world domination. last, but not least, we have brooklyn's own dead stars. we talk about the band's self-released e.p.'s, the chaos that is sxsw and their new e.p. all great conversations. i hope you enjoy them as much as i did. ciao! -jg

hello my friends! i hope this podcast finds you well and in a good place in your life. i'm doing well. i have full-week of shows this week. three of them are SKYROCKET! shows and one liars & saints show. saturday, i head into the sxsw madness for eight days. this time, i'm not playing at all. i'll just be running around interviewing people for the show. i'll also be interviewing people at the apartment in the mornings. plus, i'll be set up backstage at the austin music awards, interviewing winners and folks that are just hanging out. all week i'll be posting photos to our facebook page or you can follow me on instagram @johnnygoudie. i'm looking forward to sharing the madness with you. stay tuned.
my guest for episode 151 is one of my favorite people/artists and the very first guest on this show, the incredibly talented and gorgeous, suzanna choffel. if you listen to the show, you know suzanna and i are great friends and i have a tremendous amount of respect for her as a musician and as a person. she lives in new york now and she's in town this week playing some shows so i reached out and asked her to come over and catch-up since she's had such a crazy year and a half. we talk about the whole thing, from moving to new york, getting on the tv show, "the voice", her experience on tv and what happened after, touring, preparing for a new album, chap stick, general gossip and we laugh a lot. oh! plus, she came over on her birthday. i love hanging out with suzanna and i think it shows. let's get down!

hello everyone! i want to remind you that the last monkeyshine mondays comedy show is coming up next monday... if you are listening in austin, you should go. it's put on by my good friend and fellow podcaster, charlie hodge. it will take place at 9 pm at the rattle inn. there is no cover, drink specials and very funny comedians. and the best part, sweat and lotion, the house funk band. come get down with charlie and the comics!
my guest for episode 116 is keyboard player, stefano intelisano. stefano is a classically trained piano player who moved to the u.s. from italy around a decade ago. he came to austin, slept in a tool shed at a recording studio, learned how to be session musician and within a few years, he was touring with the likes of jason mraz, charlie robison, patty griffin and many, many more. he's always been a great hang and an inspiration to watch. turns out he's a really great and inspired guy. mett my friend, stefano intelisano.
