Hello friends! Martin Aker, Ellen Gruber, Rachel Thompson and Wes Ballew from Austin rock band, Edison Chair are my guests for episode 676! Martin and Wes have gone through some personnel changes since our chat at Saxon Pub five years ago, they've refined their sound and found a deep focus and they're out there kicking ass and taking names in 2018. Hello friends! Congratulations to the world champion Houston Astros and the city of Houston. That was a much needed win. My dear old friend and the drummer behind artists like Mineral, Bob Mould, David Rice, The Damnwells and many, many more, Matt Hammon is my guest for episode 640! Matt has just released his first solo album, Siver Suitcase which he wrote, recorded and played all of the instruments himself in his home studio. Silver Suitcase is a gorgeous record and Matt's songs tell the his incredible story. Matt and I have a great conversation in my hotel room in Houston about being everyone's drummer in the 90's and early 2000's, how his life was altered by 9/11, the struggle and ultimate triumph of making Silver Suitcase, surviving cancer and changing his life, we get evacuated from my hotel room at the beginning of the conversation and much, much more!
