Episode 222: Drew Smith

hello friends! i have some sad news. my hard drive died on friday... it's fixed, but i lost a lot of stuff like music, pictures and things like that. anyway, does anyone know how to get music off of your ipod? if you do, tweet at me. @johnnygoudie. if you live in san antonio, SKYROCKET! will be playing at sam's burger joint THIS friday, november 22nd, 2013. here's a link to the event with times and ticket info https://www.facebook.com/events/1381154922105088/?ref=br_tf oh! my friend, todd gave me 16 vinyl albums for my collection! i got early genesis, the pretenders, wings, supertramp, laurie anderson (which i have fallen in love with) and so many more! i'm pretty excited about this vinyl thing! it's so fun!

my guest for episode 122 is singer/songwriter, drew smith. drew is coming off of a hiatus in full-force. he's put his old band, drew smith's lonely choir, back together for some shows including one at the historic paramount theater in austin, tx. he's out doing shows with his new band, all the elements. he's also hosting a weekly songwriter-in-the-round at the one-to-one bar in austin, tx. anyway, i've known drew for almost a decade and i've never really gotten to sit down and have a talk with him. i did last wek and it was great! we talk about momo's, funk bands, joe humel, producing the wheeler bros., taking some time to breathe, social media, he tells a funny story about meeting me and much, much more. i hope you enjoy our conversation. i did.

ciao! -jg
