Episode 46: Alejandro Escovedo

happy valentine's day everyone!  i am in ohio with my valentine and we're going to go to cleveland for a romantic cleveland valentine's day. we're thinking about going to the rock and roll hall of fame. when i told my girlfriend, jessi, that i had never been, she insisted that this was a perfectly good valentine's day activity. i think i really lucked out! my girlfriend wants to go to the rock and roll hall of fame... for valentine's day!

my guest for episode 46 is the legendary alejandro escovedo. when i wrote alejandro a few months ago to see if he was interested in being a guest on my show, i was so flattered when he responded with a "yes" and that he had been listening and loved it, but that he was about to start recording and would get in touch when he was done. well, he did. he wrote me a couple of weeks ago to see if i was ready for the interview, so i went to his place last week and we sat down and he told me the story of his life in music. alejandro is "the real deal" not that all of my other guests aren't, alejandro is just one of those incredibly special artists. the kind of artist you wish you were. i don't really know what else to say. i was very fortunate to sit down and get to ask everything i wanted to ask. i hope you enjoy our conversation. i did.

ciao! -jg

WOW Johnny … that’s all i can say about this one. I think by now you know how much i enjoy listening to your podcasts and have made notes to myself to get some music from your guests, but this interview really touched me. What an increadible man Alejandro is. Although I’m pretty sure I saw the True Believers at one or two of the Big Boys and Dicks shows I am ashamed to say that I can’t remember. But you can be sure I will be adding some True Believers and Alejandro’s solo stuff to my music collection.

really great job and looking forward to AJ’s now.
