Episode 939: Love And Grace With Jimi Calhoun

The week after Memorial Day, my friend James Robinson reached out to me and asked if I would be interested in sitting down and talking about racism in light of the recent murder of George Floyd and the need for America to wake up to systemic racism. We had our conversation and I'm continuing with more. Today I am joined by author, pastor, musician, Jimi Calhoun! Jimi talks about his experiences with racism, his books, growing up in the Bay Area, playing with Dr. John, Sly Stone, becoming a pastor and much more. I would like to thank Jimi for his time and insight. He is an amazing writer. I read his book "A Story Of Rhythm And Grace: What The Church Can Learn From Rock And Roll About Healing The Racial Divide" and it's an amazing read. His latest book is "The Sound Of Love And Grace". We have a lot of work to do. Listening is the best place to start. Black Lives Matter.
