Julius and Brock from Portland, Oregon's big and crazy Nu-Disco band, Gold Casio came by the apartment while they were here for SXSW 2018! Their brand new e.p. Sinners is out TODAY Friday 4/20! We have a great conversation about being a gold plated nu-disco band, touring their way down to SXSW, the logistics of keeping a big band on the road, making Sinners and much more! After that, I am joined by Portland country-shoegaze trio, Candace! Their gorgeous new album, New Ruins is out now. Hello friends! Ryan Harkrider, frontman for Austin soul band, The Nightowls returns to the show for episode 687! The Nightowls are releasing a new album, the brilliant, We Are The Nightowls, on April 27th. I've been listening to it like crazy lately. Check out the first single, "Don't It Feel Weird?" out now. First up, honoring that old school Motown sound and working it into something of their very own, The Teskey Brothers are an unexpected revelation from Melbourne, Australia! Drummer Liam Gough joins me for a great conversation about this band's amazing independent rise. Their latest album, the soulful, Half Mile Harvest has made it to #1 on the Australian indie album chart, they've been selling out big venues all over Australia and after SXSW they were heading out to Los Angeles to open for Los Lobos! She was picked as one of NPR's "Bands To Watch at SXSW 2018", Austin 360's and Austin Music Foundation's "artist of the month" all in the last couple of months!
