Hello gang! Prolific artist/musician, Mary Streepy is my guest for episode 715! Mary plays drums, guitar and sings in the shoegaze trio, Queue Queue which also includes Carrie Clark (of the psychedelic noise pop band, Sixteen Deluxe) on guitar/vocals and Claire Hamilton (of chill wave/dream pop band, Paraguay) on bass and vocals. First up, honoring that old school Motown sound and working it into something of their very own, The Teskey Brothers are an unexpected revelation from Melbourne, Australia! Drummer Liam Gough joins me for a great conversation about this band's amazing independent rise. Their latest album, the soulful, Half Mile Harvest has made it to #1 on the Australian indie album chart, they've been selling out big venues all over Australia and after SXSW they were heading out to Los Angeles to open for Los Lobos! Hello friends! Kyle Robertson and Paul Price from the moody garage rock band, Good Field are my guests for episode 667! Their brilliant new album, Surface Tension was just released on February 1st. Surface Tension was recorded and mixed by Justin Douglas (Michael Jackson, Celine Dion), except the song “Surface Tension”, recorded and mixed by Jim Eno (Spoon, Father John Misty). The album was mastered by Alex Wharton (Radiohead, My Bloody Valentine) at Abbey Road Studios. They're playing a release show this Friday, February 9th at Sidewinder here in Austin and they're playing an instore at End od an Ear here in Austin on Sunday, February 11th at 4 pm.
