Hello friends! Acey Monaro and Benjamin Burdick from 2017/1018 Austin Music Awards "Best New Band" nominees, Go Fever are my guests for episode 660! Their absolutely brilliant self-titled, debut album (I call it and e.p. in the show. I don't know why and I'm sorry) came out last year. Acey was part of the 2017 ATX-6 Project and traveled to Japan and Europe this year. Hello friends! Congratulations to the world champion Houston Astros and the city of Houston. That was a much needed win. My dear old friend and the drummer behind artists like Mineral, Bob Mould, David Rice, The Damnwells and many, many more, Matt Hammon is my guest for episode 640! Matt has just released his first solo album, Siver Suitcase which he wrote, recorded and played all of the instruments himself in his home studio. Silver Suitcase is a gorgeous record and Matt's songs tell the his incredible story. Matt and I have a great conversation in my hotel room in Houston about being everyone's drummer in the 90's and early 2000's, how his life was altered by 9/11, the struggle and ultimate triumph of making Silver Suitcase, surviving cancer and changing his life, we get evacuated from my hotel room at the beginning of the conversation and much, much more! Hello friends! Jaimee Harris stopped by yesterday to do the intro today's show with me and talk about some shows she has this week, but we were having so much fun, we didn't stop and made it episode 639! Hello friends! Jack Thornton and Matt Leslie from garage-rock/power-pop trio, The History Department are my guests for episode 630! Hello friends! Mat Oldiges and Mickey Christopher from the 9-piece, orchestral, power/pop powerhouse, The Human Circuit are my guests for episode 627! Hello friends! Things are still a mess on the Gulf Coast of Texas and cities like Houston, Beumont and others still need your help.
