Episode 55: SXSW 2 - Mother Falcon, Black Taxi and more

hi everyone! welcome to sxsw part 2: electric boogaloo. i got to spend a couple of days at sxsw tagging along with my friends from new york to their shows. i had a blast! i got to see black taxi around four times. sounds weird, but i really love watching a band play multiple shows a day to see what changes as the day goes on. on thursday and friday both, deadbeat darling and black taxi rocked it. through bad sound systems on makeshift stages to the big, pro stage these bands delivered every time. it was exciting!

so, for this podcast, i got to interview a couple of members of the  20-plus person band, mother falcon. i talked to ezra from black taxi and samantha rex from the attic ends (both from brooklyn) together because it seemed like these brooklyn kids really look out for and support each other and i really liked that. i also got to interview my old friend and former bandmate, brad byram from blondes make better victims. the best interview on here is with a man named, g.o.a.t. who was wearing a thong and a cape. i saw him walking down the street and chased him down! i hope you've enjoyed these sxsw episodes. i had a blast this year.

ciao! -jg

Hey Johnny, this was a nice change in format, where you didn’t spend as much time with your guest and so were able to get more in the podcast. I enjoyed it and maybe something to think about doing in the future when SXSW isn’t on. On saying that, I am looking forward to the next couple of more “in-depth” interviews.

p.s. I love your enthusiasm and commitment for what you are doing.

Thanks for all the time you put in to entertain us,

wow robert! thank you so much for noticing the work i put into this. that means a lot. also, thank you for always weighing in on podcasts. it really helps. and yes, i am talking to people from psychfest about doing a special psychfest show in the same format. also, trying to get a once a month LIVE show going where i interview more than one person like the coveters one.

anyway,. thank you so much for listening and caring enough to say stuff. it means a lot. cheers! -jg
