Episode 8: Charlie Faye

hello there! well, i think the fires in central texas are subsiding. sadly, now that the smoke is clearing, we are seeing devastation in central texas that is absolutely horrifying. i have been getting facebook messages about fellow musicians who live in the affected areas and it makes me so sad. here's a link so that you can help victims of this awful tragedy... http://www.statesman.com/blogs/content/shared-gen/blogs/austin/blotter/entries/2011/09/06/help_for_fire_victims.html episode 8 features charlie faye. charlie just released an album that she made while she toured the united states. however, her tour was different than most... she would live in a city for a month, get a residency, put together a band, get to know the people and the place she was staying, let them get to know her, she would record a song and then when the month was over, she would go to the next city. she did this for 10 months. you can read about her experience at www.charliefaye.com. i hope you enjoy my conversation with charlie. ciao! -jg
