The week after Memorial Day, my friend James Robinson reached out to me and asked if I would be interested in sitting down and talking about racism in light of the recent murder of George Floyd and the need for America to wake up to systemic racism. We had our conversation and I'm continuing with more. Today I am joined by soul singer, songwriter and soon-to-be-mom, Kate Priestley! We have a great conversation about growing up in the U.K., racism in America vs. U.K., life under quarantine, her thoughts on her child's future, British soul music and much more. Hello friends! Indie/pop rockers, Color Candy are my guests on the show for episode 627! My guest for episode 609 is singer/songwriter, Austin Chronicle writer, non-profit founder, Jefferson Scholar in the prestigeous Plan II program at The University of Texas, William Harries Graham! If you live in Austin and have for the last 14 years, you've probably heard or at least heard of William. Many of us have had the honor of watching the 19 year old grow up in front of us. He's been in the studio with his band and producer Stuart Sullivan recording his latest album St. Claire to be released later this year. It starts this week with the interactive and film festivals. I'll be doing a live podcast next week, Thursday, March 16th at 11 am at the SXSW Podcast Stage in the Brazos Room at the JW Marriot in downtown Austin.
