Hello friends! Bass player/photographer, Matthew Lindsey is my guest for episode 803! You might know Matthew from his work with Charlie Faye, Wendy Colonna, Rosie Flores and many more. I got to spend some time with him over the last six months through some SongDivision gigs we were on together and became fast friends. We have a great conversation about listening to his older siblings' albums and getting "turned on" to rock and roll, falling in love with photography after a walkabout, working in the film industry in Chicago, working as a photographer's assistant, cutting his teeth in the New York music scene, our shared dislike of "influencers", how our grandfathers were way tougher than us, having a heart attack during load in and much more. Hello friends! Lucas Griffin from Rock and Roll Hall of fame inductees and the best selling instrumental group of all time, The Ventures is my guest for episode 802! The Ventures have been around since the early 60's and they're still playing shows and making new music with a new generation carrying on The Ventures name and spreading their music around the world. They released an album of new music in Japan in 2018, the very "Ventures" sounding, Here We Go Again. They've also been touring in the U.S. and Japan and they'll be playing this Friday, May 17th at Gas Monkey Bar & Grill in Dallas, TX and Saturday, May 18th at The Cactus Theater in Lubbock, TX.
