Hello friends! i hope you had a great Labor Day weekend. i did. i played a couple of shows with Skyrocket, went to an awesome benefit for my friend, George Reiff at C-boys on Sunday night. Hello friends! Welcome to the last days of summer 2016. Labor day weekend is upon us. I hope you have fabulous plans to close out the summer. I don't really have plans. Does anyone have a boat they want to take on? I'm playing with Skyrocket on Friday at Cedar Street Courtyard in Austin and Saturday, we'll be at Mercer Street Dance Hall in Dripping Springs. Come out and start your Labor Day weekend off with some sweet jams provided me and my pals.

Hello friends! I hope you had a great weekend. I had a good one. Skyrocket played a couple of private shows in Houston. They were fun shows in bbq places, so i had a lot of bbq this weekend. I loved both dinners and we had a blast at both gigs. If you live in Austin or in the Hill Country, Skyrocket will be playing shows in both of these places this weekend. Friday, 9/2 at Cedar Street Courtyard in Austin and Saturday 9/3 at Mercer Street Dance Hall in Dripping Springs, TX.

hello friends! i hope you're all holding up in this insane heat. some days i feel like i'm gonna melt. hey! if you're listening to this show the day it comes out. skyrocket will be playing tonight, friday august 12th at sam's burger joint in san antonio. come on out and join the party. on the original music front, i'm going to be writing with the members of my band, ladyband johnson next week. we have a show coming up in november. i'll be sure to let you know when that happens.
my guest for episode 514 is the amazingly talented, patrick husband! i met patrick around a month ago at a listening party for his gorgeous new e.p., simple house. i got hear the album and see the brilliant video for his single, "if you want it". needless to say i was blown away by patrick's songs and the great production by same sky productions' andre cantave and david messier. patrick and i have a great conversation about a tough upbringing after losing his mother at a really young age, how music saved his life, finding his sound, recording simple house and much, much more. i had a great time getting to know patrick. i'm sure you will too. stay cool out there... literally. let's get down!

my guests for episode 513 are houston pop duo, drop out vegas! these super-talented guys have just released a new single, "sleep alone" on their own and they've gotten a ton of press for it and believe me, it's well-deserved. i came a cross these guys on social media a little over a month ago. they looked cool, so i went and listened to their music and fell in love. skylar and jason came by my hotel when i was in houston a few weeks ago and we had a great conversation about growing up in the church music programs, writing songs together and apart, the woodlands vs kingwood, making pop music in houston and much, much more. i had a great time getting to know skylar and jason. i'm sure you will too. let's get down!

hello friends! i hope you're all doing well. staying healthy. are you guys as freaked out as i am by all of the violence in our country and in the world right now? it's starting to feel like "ghostbusters 2" when the ugliness is coming up from bowels of the earth and invading human beings and making them do ugly things. there's so much anger out there. i hope that there is some way that world can take a collective deep breath and find a way to support and understand each other rather than kill each other. now i sound like a hippie.
my guests for episode 507 are one of austin's newest bands, belcurve! belcurve is made up of members of other austin bands like, quiet comapany, the please, please me, castro and more. they've written and recorded some amazing songs in their studio and now they're ready bring them to the people.
