Hello friends! I hope you all had a great weekend. My guest for episode 616 is pop singer and songwriter, Finlay! Finlay's latest single, "Tides" released in March, has been played over 129,000 on Spotify alone. "Tides" is is only her second single. Her first single, "Always There" was released in November. you can find music, videos and more at finlaymusic.com So in the last 9 Months, Finlay has released 2 singles, gotten over 140,000 plays on both combined on Spotify, secured major management, was picked as one of NPR's "100 Artists To Watch at SXSW 2017", she was Austin Music Foundation's Artist of the Month for July and a lot more. You might be asking yourself, "How does she do it?". Well, Finlay and I have a great conversation about growing up in Houston, learning piano at a young age, going to college in L.A., surviving a deadly shark attack in 2012, returning to the ocean and comitting her life to music, making music with her husband and much, much more! Hello friends! My guest for episode 614 is keyboard player, producer, songwriter and studio owner, Michael Ramos! Michael has most recently been touring with country artist, Pat Green but he's about to hit the road playing with Shawn Colvin on her tour celebrating 20 years of her album, "A Few Small Repairs". He's also been in his studio, Brown Recluse Studio, producing artists like Jackie Venson and Gina Chavez. Michael has been playing keyboards and on the road since he was a kid and has toured with artists like John Mellencamp, BoDeans, The Rembrants, Charlie Sexton and countless others. He's also produced albums for artists like, Gina Chavez, Nakia, Patty Griffin and many others. His band, Charanga Cakewalk had a great run as well. I've known Michael since I was 15 and have always looked up to him as a musician and great person and we have a fantastic conversation about his illustrious career. I hope you enjoy it. I sure did. Hello friends! I hope you've all had a good week. I've had a good week. I have a lot of SKYROCKET stuff going on this week. We played a private show last night here in Austin, we're playing tonight, Friday, June 23rd at Fitzgerald's in Houston and we're back at Cedar Street Courtyard in Austin on Saturday. I got to be a guest bartender with my pal, AJ Vallejo on Tuesday for HAAM (The Health Alliance for Austin Musicians) at Sophia's here in Austin. It was a great time for a great cause. Hello friends! I hope you all had a good weekend doing weekend things and what not. I played all weekend. I played with SKYROCKET! on Friday and Saturday nights in Dripping Springs and San Antonio. Then Sunday i played at The Pecan Street Festival with my new band. It was a great time, but I hurt my back during the show. I'm on the mend.
