Episode 1357: Bevis Griffin and Jason Crouch

Hello friends! The Journal of Texas Music History just released its 23rd volume featuring an in-depth oral history of Texas Black Rock Maverick, Bevis Griffin written by musician and research librarian at Texas State University, Jason Crouch. Bevis Griffin and Jason Crouch are my guests on the show today. We have a great conversation about the story in The Journal of Texas Music History, the magazine itself, Jason's accidental career as a writer, Bevis' early musical years in Wichita Falls, TX, a chance encounter and jam with a young Billy Gibbons, the Austin scene in the 70's and 80's, Jason and I talk about our residency we had together at Steamboat in the 90's, Bevis' pivot to educator and much more. I had a great time catching up with my old friends. I'm sure you will too. Let's get down!
