Episode 324: Cody Bryan / Mike Flanigin Checks In

hello friends! i hope everyone survived election day. i did. i had a good parking/short line scene at my voting place. i'm glad those nasty commercials are off tv. although, i will say, i'm gonna miss greg abbott's mother in law. she seems nice. i want to let you know that i will be on the koop radio 91.7 on saturday from 3-4pm playing some songs and chatting with with rush evans. check it out. i'm sure you can hear it on line. on this episode i check in with mike flanigin on the phone. he's got a kickstarter campaign for his ultra-personal, start-studded album, "the drifter". i am a huge fan of mike's, he's an amazing talent and he's got billy gibbons, alejandro escovedo, gary clark jr., kat edmonson and many more on this album. he's got a little under a month left on his campaign. so go to https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1294454178/the-drifter?ref=discovery watch his promo movie and donate. let's help mike get this album out!

my guest for episode 324 is singer/songwriter, cody bryan! i met cody a few weeks ago when we were both guests on a podcast here in austin. i checked out his music, i thought he was cool and i invited him over for a conversation. he came over and we talked about his new album, wreck me, working with matt novesky, what's up with country music, nashville country vs. texas country, growing up with cool supportive parents, having your dad play bass with you and much, much more. i had a great time getting to know cody. i'm sure you will too. let's get down!

ciao! -jg
