Hello friends! Multi- woodwind instrumentalist and singer-songwriter Leila Henley is my guest for episode 1584! After 20 years of playing in bands in Austin, Leila is about to release her debut solo album, How To Let Go out on August 6th. Her singles "Tardigrade" and "Your Life in the Dirt" are available on all the streamers. We have a preview of her next single "Inside the Stone" which comes out this Thursday 7/16. She'll be having a release show on August 29th at 3Ten ACL Live with Molecular Steve. We have a great conversation about growing up in on the gulf coast of Alabama, moving to Austin after losing her home in New Orleans during hurricane Katrina, finding her voice as a songwriter, hitting a personal bottom after getting divorced, making How To Let Go with producers Michael Ingber and Eric Harrison at Studio 601, being a mom, getting through the tough times with friends, and much more.
