how did i get here?
”Johnny Goudie is the Marc Maron of Austin music. The veteran singer/guitarist – best known for fronting early Nineties pop band Mr. Rocket Baby and, later, his major-label rock act, Goudie – stepped up to the microphone with a new intention in 2011 and launched the How Did I Get Here? podcast. Now 840-some episodes in, the hourlong, twice-weekly interview show gives the host a platform to really connect with his Austin music guests, not just on what’s happening in their careers, but also in the shared experience of music appreciation – and that’s where he truly shines.” -The Austin Chronicle 2019

Hello friends! Austin institution, Dave Prewitt whose 30 years introducing Austin to music on through his cable access shows (DaveTV, CapZeyeZ and Raw Time) is leaving Austin for love in Norfolk, VA. While I am very happy for Dave, I will miss his spirit in this town. His passion for music and the weirdos that make it, is infectious and he introduced me to music since I moved here in 1991. Even though Dave is moving away, he'll still be filming and interviewing bands in Norfolk and he has an incredible back log of content that you can find at Davetv.org. I wanted to say goodbye to Dave and talk about his 30 years documenting this scene. For episode 833, I am joined by Dave and his long-time TV co-host, Stupid Drama frontman, Nathan Olivarez. You can find Stupid Drama at stupiddrama.com. We have a spirited conversation about their 30 years in cable access, there are some tears and there are a lot of laughs. I hope you enjoy this conversation as much as I did. Let's get down!
