Hello gang! Prolific artist/musician, Mary Streepy is my guest for episode 715! Mary plays drums, guitar and sings in the shoegaze trio, Queue Queue which also includes Carrie Clark (of the psychedelic noise pop band, Sixteen Deluxe) on guitar/vocals and Claire Hamilton (of chill wave/dream pop band, Paraguay) on bass and vocals. Julius and Brock from Portland, Oregon's big and crazy Nu-Disco band, Gold Casio came by the apartment while they were here for SXSW 2018! Their brand new e.p. Sinners is out TODAY Friday 4/20! We have a great conversation about being a gold plated nu-disco band, touring their way down to SXSW, the logistics of keeping a big band on the road, making Sinners and much more! Hello friends! I you're all doing well. Things are good here. I'm rehearsing some with my band, Ladyband Johnson for our show this Friday 11/4 at The Continental Club here in Austin. We go on at 11 pm. Come out and say hi. Other than that, tonight (Tuesday 11/1) I'll be doing some hosting duties at the TuneCore and Austin Music Foundation at Emo's. Hello friends! I hope you all had a great weekend. I had a good weekend. i did spend some of it worried that was too sick to play. I can't tell if I have a lingering cold or just really bad allergies, because it seems like one day, i'm better and the next i'm totally sick again. Anyway, I had a good time singing at the John Lennon birthday show at Threadgill's here in Austin on Sunday. Lots of cool folks joined Stephen Doster's #9 Orchestra to pay tribute to John on his birthday.
My guest for episode 532 is Samuel Chown musically known as Shmu! Shmu's latest album Shhh!!! is absolutely fantastic! Sam and I have a great conversation about growing up in Canada, going to Berklee College of Music, making shoe-gazer/dream pop meets psychedelic glitch music, his label, GTZ Records and much, much more! I hope you enjoy getting to know Sam/Shmu as much as I did. Let's get down!

hello friends! i hope this episode finds you all happy and healthy. if you're a musician in austin and are planning on releasing music in the form of a single, e.p. or full-length album, i have a panel for you. the austin music foundation and arlyn studios present: releasing your music, a panel sovering distribution channels, release shows, traditional and grassroots marketing, d.i.y. publicity and much more. it all takes place wednesday, august 10th from 7-10 pm at arlyn studios in austin, tx. here's a link to the event details. austinmusicfoundation.org come out. it's informative, it's free and i'll be moderating. 
my guests for episode 513 are houston pop duo, drop out vegas! these super-talented guys have just released a new single, "sleep alone" on their own and they've gotten a ton of press for it and believe me, it's well-deserved. i came a cross these guys on social media a little over a month ago. they looked cool, so i went and listened to their music and fell in love. skylar and jason came by my hotel when i was in houston a few weeks ago and we had a great conversation about growing up in the church music programs, writing songs together and apart, the woodlands vs kingwood, making pop music in houston and much, much more. i had a great time getting to know skylar and jason. i'm sure you will too. let's get down!

hello friends! i hope you're all in your positions for the maelstrom of insanity heading our way like a giant category 5 hurricane made up of hipsters, entertainment industry professionals on spring break, corporate take overs of your favorite street corners, drunk fans and the president and first lady of the united states. i think i am. if you're not in austin or coming to austin this week for sxsw, maybe you'll get sleep and wake up sane. if you are coming to austin or live in austin, good luck bro! let the insanity begin.
my guests for episode 471 are chip and erin adams, owners of modern outsider records. the just won "best record label" at the austin music industry awards on monday. they've only been around for five years and have put out records by dana falconberry, quiet company, moving panoramas, the crookes, black pistol fire and many more. they started out with a simple mission: discover and release good music. they've stuck to it and in a time when labels are folding and straning to survive, the've made modern outsider work. find out why they started it and how they make it wok. i hope you enjoy getting to know chip and erin. i sure did. let's get down!
