how did i get here?

”Johnny Goudie is the Marc Maron of Austin music. The veteran singer/guitarist – best known for fronting early Nineties pop band Mr. Rocket Baby and, later, his major-label rock act, Goudie – stepped up to the microphone with a new intention in 2011 and launched the How Did I Get Here? podcast. Now 840-some episodes in, the hourlong, twice-weekly interview show gives the host a platform to really connect with his Austin music guests, not just on what’s happening in their careers, but also in the shared experience of music appreciation – and that’s where he truly shines.” -The Austin Chronicle 2019

Hello and welcome to How Did I Get Here? From The Vault! Today we go back to episode 63 for a great conversation with Kurt Neumann from BoDeans originally released on April 20, 2012! Below are my original notes form the show.
My guest for episode 63 is, Kurt Neumann from BoDeans. I was really looking forward to meeting Kurt as i have been a BoDeans fan since their first album, Love & Hope & Sex & Dreams in 1986. Kurt came by the apartment last week to talk to me about the BoDeans' new album, American Made which comes out on June 12th. While he was there we discussed his upbringing in Wisconsin, the origin of the BoDeans, and his journey through the ever-changing business of rock and roll. I was really glad we were able to sit down and talk. BoDeans came into my life when music was taking on a whole new meaning. Music was shaping me and keeping me sane at the same time and Kurt's band was an important part of that. You can find out everything you need to about the BoDeans and their new album and lengthy summer tour at www.bodeans.com I hope you enjoy our conversation. I did.

Today, we lost a beloved member of the Austin music scene. Billy Wilson from Latin At Heart lost his battle with cancer. My heart goes out to his family and close friends. If you knew Billy, you knew he was driven to make things happen for Latin At Heart and he was an extremely supportive music fan. Billy finally got to record one of his songs with a producer in a studio like he had always wanted. His song, "We Ran To" produced by my dear friend, Darin Murphy came out a couple of weeks ago and got some spins on the radio. That was Billy's dream. I'm glad he got to realize it. Rest in peace, Billy. You'll be missed. Please enjoy our conversation from April 27, 2020

Hello and welcome to How Did I Get Here? From The Vault! Today we go back to episode 414 for an amazing conversation with legendary artist, Joe King Carrasco originally released on September, 15, 2015! Below are my original notes form the show.
My guest for episode 414 is the man, the myth, the legend, the amazing Joe King Carrasco! Joe stopped by a few weeks ago while he was in town promoting his new album, Chiliando which he made with his new band, Joe King Carrasco y Los Side FX. Chiliando is Joe's most rocking album to date. He's been living in Puerto Vallarta for a while now and settled into his new Mexican life. We sat down and had a fantastic conversation about, being a star of early MTV, having Michael Jackson sing back-up on a session, getting banned from Saturday Night Live, his excitement over Chiliando, questionable vans breaking down in the mountains while on tour, his dog rescue foundation vivaperros.org, owning his own club in Puerto Vallarta and much, much more! It was an honor to have Joe King come over and chat. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did. Let's get down!
