Julius and Brock from Portland, Oregon's big and crazy Nu-Disco band, Gold Casio came by the apartment while they were here for SXSW 2018! Their brand new e.p. Sinners is out TODAY Friday 4/20! She was picked as one of NPR's "Bands To Watch at SXSW 2018", Austin 360's and Austin Music Foundation's "artist of the month" all in the last couple of months! Hello friends! I have a SXSW 2018 double-header for you today. First up, from the remote Isle of Lewis in Scotland, singer/songwriter, Colin Macleod! Colin has a new album on BMG, Bloodlines Produced by the amazing Ethan Johns, dropping this May. The first single, "Kicks In" is out now! Colin is an amazing songwriter and such a great human being. Colin and I have a great conversation about growing up and living in a remote area where you grow and raise your own food, Scottish accents, working with Ethan Johns, his upcoming Bonaroo performance and much more. After Colin Macleod, I was joined by Brooklyn trio, Joseph King & The Mad Crush! Joseph is one of my best friends and it's always a treat to sit down during SXSW with him and his bandmates. JP, Will, Joseph and I had a couple of vodka shots and got right into it... how the trio has been a liberating and inspiring transition, Their e.p.
